Greetings from Tokyo! It’s my first time in Tokyo and I can’t get enough of this place, which I refer to as the capital of cuteness. From friendly people to delicious food, Tokyo is unlike any place I have ever visited. Here are a few snapshots of breakfast with a view and a humid day packed with shopping around the city. More on my Tokyo trip later…now off to Bali to soak in much needed sun and ocean.
Military inspired silhouettes have always been a favorite of mine. From gold button details to tailored jackets it has given a modern look to military fashion. I purchased this Trouve jacket while in Chicago a few weeks back and have been wearing it pretty much every day since. It’s a great layering pieces and light enough to throw on over your summer attire. Be sure to check out more of my military inspired picks below. Hope you’re having a great week!
It’s time for my favorite sale of the year — the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! To get ready for fall I am all about investing in basic pieces that are versatile and comfortable. I have always been a huge fan of Theory, so I was beyond excited to find some of my favorite pieces on sale, especially this draped jacket with leather sleeves pictured below.
As I spend more and more time in LA, I just can’t get enough! The weather, the style, the food, it has pretty much become my second home and I am fully embracing it with open arms. As of late, I have my daily LA routine down, my go-to LA spots down (more on a guide to LA later), and now my LA uniform down — consisting of some distressed denim (LOVE these), comfy heels, and a basic top.
As I begin the co-habitation process with my fiance, I’ve been looking for some design inspriation for our place. Living alone you have the freedom to decor as your little heart desires, but living with someone else is another story. He jokingly comments that my current place is bejeweled, even though I know he secretly loves how cozy it is. With our next place I need to find a happy neutral medium — something not too feminine, something not too modern, something just the right amount cozy. Below is a small sample of some design inspiration I’ve been exploring.
In your wardrobe this summer everyone needs at least one pair of distressed denim shorts. With a vintage meets modern feel, I can’t get enough of these Rag & Bone shorts. Dress them up with a pair of heels or dress them down with some flat sandals or sneakers. And yes, your parents might be a little shocked that you’re paying more for jeans with holes in them. If you’re on a budget why not try to make your own? Be sure to check out this How-To tutorial on how to make Distressed Denim. Happy Monday!
Summer is the perfect time to entertain guests outdoors and keep cool with chilled cocktails. When it comes to entertaining I try to keep things REALLY simple so the majority of my time can be spent catching up with my guests and indulged in good conversation.
I’ve had my eye on this TopShop Playsuit (from Nordstrom) for some time and completely blame my recent purchase on Natalie. It fits perfectly and makes getting dressed pretty effortless. Add some sky-high wedges (like these Via Spiga ones) and you’re set for a early evening BBQ with friends. Hope your week is off to a great start.
I have to admit, it had been a really long time since I last visited Sears. The last time I was there was years ago when I would tag along with my mom on her shopping outings. Since then, I have been really curious about their recent fashion collaborations so when the opportunity presented itself I was eager and excited to see what Sears had in store for me. Overall I had a delightful experience – organized racks, affordable prices, and on-trend pieces like this chic little black dress from the Kardashian Kollection.
On cooler nights, for a casually refined look I always leave the house with a light jacket. This black and white plaid jacket from Equipment has been on repeat since I first spotted it at NM Last Call. Hope your Monday is off to a great start.
